New Beginnings for Marsh Rats

For over two decades, Kyle and Amanda Hoyt have poured their heart and soul into building Soggy Feet Enterprises and All Natural Meats — a first-generation farm rooted in quality, sustainability, and honest work. What began in 2004 as a small hay operation has grown into a full-time farm selling locker beef, growing numerous field crops, as well as planting and maintaining multiple duck lakes on their farm. They have always believed in doing things the right way — respectably and responsibly from their farm to your table.

Kyle’s love for the outdoors started long before the farm; he grew up hunting and spending countless days on Sauvie Island — respecting the land, the waterfowl and building a deep appreciation for the outdoors and farming for ducks. Those experiences shaped his work ethic and his passion for wildlife, farming, and time spent with family and friends.

That same appreciation has guided the family’s journey. Kyle and Amanda met at Oregon State University with a shared commitment to agriculture and stewardship, and together built their farm on values of family, hard work, and service to the community. Though life’s experiences have tempered them over time, their well-developed sense of humor remains intact. When starting their business they wanted to come up with a more creative name than the “Hoyt Farm.” From farming swampy ground just a few feet above sea level on Sauvie Island and in Scappoose, Oregon, to irrigating, being stuck in the mud, and the countless years in duck lakes before they could afford waders that didn’t leak, the name Soggy Feet Enterprises was born.

Our next Enterprise: On the Water

Recently we purchased Marsh Rat boats, previously sold under the name Mallard Marine and are beginning this exciting new adventure under a new name- Marshline LLC. This addition to Soggy Feet Enterprises reflects both continuity and growth. While the name for the boat company is changing, the commitment remains the same — integrity, quality, and a deep respect for the outdoor lifestyle that brings so many of us together. Marshline represents the connection between land, water, and the muddy space between. It’s a natural extension of who we are and what we value. We are deeply vested into waterfowl habitat on the farm, avid hunters, and love being on the water.

Kyle witnessed the startup of Marsh Rat 30 years ago, by David Boys. Mr. Boys was an icon in the waterfowl community; the boats were designed from his experience using inferior sneak boats or painted kayaks. The Rats have infiltrated marshes, rivers, and duck ponds across the country for decades; the infestation will continue!

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to carry this business forward and build on its legacy. Thank you for your continued support — whether you’ve known us through the farm, the duck blind, or the dinner table.
From pastures to ponds, fields to duck blinds — we can’t wait to see you out there!

With gratitude,
The Hoyt Family
Marshline LLC
